Aqua Planet : The Philippines' most epic water park

You know that summer is just around the corner when 9 a.m. starts feeling like 2 p.m. and you're sweating profusely under minimal movement and effort.

With that, it's time to head to beaches and resorts again to dip into some cool, refreshing water to relieve yourself from the tremendous summer heat. But where should you head to this summer to maximize use of your time and enjoy a wide variety of water activities?

Your best choice is Clark Freeport Zone, which spans the cities of Mabalacat and Angeles in Pampanga. The former American military base turned central business district is home to one of the largest water parks in Asia, Aqua Planet!

I visited Aqua Planet during its opening day in February 2018 as I was one of the few members of the print media to be invited.

Its opening is a huge boost for the economy of Clark Freeport Zone and the rest of Pampanga as it was a P2.5-billion investment. The water park is a joint venture of BB International Leisure and Resort Development Corporation (BBI), Eaglesky Technology Amusement and Gaming, and Central Summit International.

The state-of-the-art water park was designed by American company Aquatic Development Group to ensure the safety of each water feature, while ensuring that visitors would have the most fun while using them.

With a land area of 10 hectares, Aqua Planet has a daily guest capacity of up to 5,000 people and has 38 water slides and other attractions. Among the water features are two wave pools: one for children and another for adults. It also has the first body slide in the country and the longest lazy river in any water park in the Philippines.

Aside from these water features, another state-of-the-art feature is the use of RFID bracelets for each visitor. These bracelets are preloaded with credits which visitors can use to purchase food, souvenirs and other items inside the park, as the park management doesn't accept cash or credit cards in establishments inside Aqua Planet.

Foodies won't have to worry about getting hungry and finding a grub inside Aqua Planet as there are several food establishments and restaurants that sell food, snacks and beverages throughout the water park.

Aqua Planet is open weekdays, weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the following entrance rates:

Off-peak season
Weekdays: P980 for adults, P780 for kids (below four feet in height)
Weekends and holidays: P1,180 for adults, P980 for kids (below four feet in height)

Peak season
Weekdays: P1,080 for adults, P880 for kids (below four feet in height)
Weekends and holidays: P1,280 for adults, P1,080 for kids (below four feet in height)

How was my experience inside this world-class water park? Watch the video below:

My experience at Aqua Planet is an exhilarating and refreshing one. I would definitely come back soon with my family and friends. With all the fun you'll be having in all of its water features, it's worth every penny you'll pay and driving all the way to Pampanga to experience it.

See you next time for more #EpicAdventures!
